Most plastic surgery clinics in Gangnam are large, volume-driven facilities where consultation, surgical decision-making, and the actual operation may be performed by different individuals. International patients often discover this only after arriving in Seoul.

Etonne is structured differently. We are a single boutique anti-aging clinic with four board-certified plastic surgeons, all of whom completed medical school and surgical residency at the same institution: Seoul National University College of Medicine and Seoul National University Hospital — often informally compared to the Harvard or Mass General training pathway in the United States.

The surgeon you consult with is the surgeon who operates. The surgeon who operates is the surgeon who follows up with you for the first 7 days. There is no rotation, no unnamed assistance, no marketing-only credentialing.

Why All Four Surgeons Came From the Same University

It is not a coincidence that all four operating surgeons at Etonne completed medical school and residency at Seoul National University.

Plastic surgery training in Korea is highly variable across institutions. Some residencies emphasize trauma reconstruction; others emphasize cosmetic technique; others have weaker oversight. Seoul National University Hospital's Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery is the country's most academically rigorous training program — research output, faculty depth, and case volume across both reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery are concentrated there.

When the Etonne team formed, the founders specifically sought surgical partners from the same training lineage to ensure consistency in technique, in surgical judgment, and in postoperative management. An Etonne consultation with one surgeon will produce a treatment plan that another surgeon on the team would also have arrived at — because the training base is identical.
